The cover of TEXIT: Why and How Texas Will Leave the Union, by Daniel Miller, foreword by John Griffing
The opposition has been reduced to the one-sentence reply of, “You can’t do that.”
TEXIT, Preface

In the Preface, Miller describes where the debate stood in 2018. One side shouted at every new federal grievance. The other answered with a single sentence.

TEXIT is the long answer. It covers the history and the polling behind the movement, the legal objections, the legislative path to a referendum, and the transition itself: trade, travel, currency and banking, Social Security, the military, and the national debt. Miller had spent 20 years on the question when he wrote it, and he wrote it for a general reader rather than a law review.
